Why should you appear in the SAT?
We told you once and we will tell you again… clearing SAT gets you admission to your US college of choice. Prestigious colleges in the US make it mandatory for you to clear the test with good scores in order to get admission. They also use it to grant scholarships, Now that you know the reasons, let's find out when it is held, what are the components, how long is it , how and where to register for it, how to start preparations…and so on!


How many sections are there in the Test?
SAT comprises three sections. Each section is scored on a 200 to 800 point scale, pegging the top score at a ‘perfect' 2400. The sections include Math, Writing & Critical Reading.


Who conducts it?
It is conducted by the US-based ‘College Entrance Examination Board' which also frames the question papers. It conducts the test and sends each examinee the score card and report.


How many times a year is it held in India?
The SAT is conducted 6 times a year in India, in the months of January, May, June, October, November & December. In case, you're not sure when you should take the SAT, just post or alternately send us a query, and we will be most willing to help.


Where is it held?
It is conducted in 11 cities spread across the country, including the four metros of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Other cities include Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kodaikanal, Musoorie, and Pune.


What is the ideal score?
The SAT is scored out of a total of 2400 points. Each university has its own cut-off scores. Most universities consider a score of 1500 plus to be good. 1800 plus would be a very good score and 2200 plus would be the ideal.


How long is my test score valid?
Your SAT score is valid for 2 years.


How long does the SAT Test take?
The SAT Test takes 3 hours and 45 minutes in all (225 minutes). The Math and Critical Reading take up 70 minutes (One hour & 10 minutes) apiece while the Writing Section takes up all of 60 minutes (one hour). In addition, there is the 25-minute Unscored or Surprise Section.


How do I prepare for it?
You need to get a good overall to begin with, and for that, you must be confident of answering what is asked of you. In order to become proficient over content, you need to practice hard.
